Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October 2016 where she started to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year, as he wanted Rihanna to work together on a few references. Then, in December of 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016 her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream of the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole in her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February her music video to this track debuted. It has had more than three million YouTube views within a week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
